The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chapter of the IWLA has ranges for the use of its members, their escorted guests, and periodic events where scout troops, private groups, and members of the general public are hosted for activities in keeping with the chapter's conservation education mission
Before using any of the following ranges, those who will handle or discharge firearms or archery bows / crosbows MUST fill out a Hold Harmless Agreement EVERY DAY & on EVERY RANGE that they so do
The Bethesda Chevy Chase Izaak Walton League Rifle and Pistol Range is located on the southwest corner of the chapter property, to the left of the chapter drive as one entering the chapter passes the small pond.
The range includes 100-yard and 50-yard target positions on the rifle-side of the range as well as 50-foot, 25-yard and 50-yard target positions on the pistol-side.
There are ten shooting positions for rifle and six for pistol. The range is administered by the Rifle and Pistol Range Committee. The committee chair is appointed by the B-CC Chapter President on a yearly basis.
The chapter's Summer Biathlon Team periodically holds its practices on the Rifle-Pistol Range in the morning before other shooting is permitted.
During the spring and summer we offer a sporting clays league on Tuesday afternoons. In the fall we join together with one other club and offer a Winter Sporting Clays League. We also host a number of 50 target Fun Shoots and an annual Fathers Day Shoot.
We invite B-CC IWLA members and escorted guests to come out and enjoy IBO style archery course covering 50 plus acres within our beautiful 623-acre conservation farm.
