Board of Governors Meeting @ 7:30pm

The B-CC IWLA Board of Governors meets the 4th Wednesday of every month, January though October. In November & December, the BOG meeting follows the Membership (Dinner) Meeting in order to minimize conflicts with winter holidays.

Members in Good Standing, their Guests, and Guests invited by the Board are welcome.

- Shooting at the target butts, as always, is free for members & their escorted guests

This Satyrday, September 15th at 9am, the chapterhouse will get its monthly cleaning & dusting Sweep Broomjust in time for the following  Wednesday's dinner meeting. Those who want to help the chapter put on its freshest face for the next month, especially those who need work hours, have a golden opportunity just a few days away

THe chapterhouse, especially the bathroomms and including the Boardroom, will be completely closed during this time


Bring your "favorite" cleaning gloves and comfortable clothes for some mopping, dusting, cleaning, & dusting

This time of year, it's especially important to get the inside of the chapter looking sparkly, as we all socialize more inside in the cold weather

One of the chapter's senior members will be there to unlock the front gate & open the chapterhouse Cleaning suppliesfor prospective members who don't have their own access yet

Customarily, members who stay for the entire cleanup get a full three hours toward their annual work requirement. Family members & friends who join the effort get their hours attributed the their escorting member's annual total

Tasks generally include:
- Checking propane levels in outside tank
- Cleaning both bathrooms top-to-bottom
- Wiping down surfaces in chapter kitchen & member kitchen
- Cleaning all kitchen sinks & sink trap
- Cleaning & organizing bar sink, bar top,  & bar area
- Mopping kitchens, bar, bathrooms, entry and in front of bar
- Dust-mopping chapterhouse floor & BOG room
- Dusting window frame, mantels, and BOG room
- Cleaning chapterhouse windows inside & out
- Polishing the BOG room floor
- In cold weather, we clean the ashes/debris from the fireplaces
- In warm weather, we also attack the chairs, tables, & concrete on the porches

Don't let this list daunt you !!!! With a good crew, we have finished this list well before noon

Fall Family Campout
Please mark your calendars with the 2018 Fall Family Campout:
- 2pm, Saturday, October 2th to 10am, Sunday, October 21st
 
The Family Campout is open to members and their escorted guests and is a great way to spend time with your kids away
from electronics and TV
 
Fishing is scheduled in the afternoon with dinner, night games, and a campfire
(s’mores and hot chocolate included) in the evening. Sunday will dawn with a hearty breakfast
 
We will be camping by the chapterhouse, which will remain open throughout Saturday night (Restrooms & climate control)
 
An email announcement will be sent out, and RSVP would be appreciated to ensure that  we have enough hotdogs, burgers, and sundry sides to go around

Chapter Holiday Decorating

I will be organizing decorations before 10am


Tucker will be making real hot chocolate


From roughly 10am-2pm, we will be

    - Cutting down a Christmas tree
    - Schlepping it to the chapterhouse
    - Erecting & decorating the tree

    - Decorating the beams, windows, and mounts inside the chapterhouse

    - Hanging decorative lights on the gutters outside the chapterhouse

    - Bedecking the spruce tree outside the BOG room with lights

    - Stringing lights to the chapter flagpole for a nighttime "Christmas tree"

    - Stowing the crates, etc. for the decorations back in the chapterhouse attic

 

Join us, we need plenty of artsy types and plenty of springy youngsters to help with the ladder work

No, seriously, there is a lit pink Christmas-pig with wings astride the peak of the chapterhouse, courtesy of our chapter past-president

The annual chapter Christmas party commences Saturday evening (12/08) at 7pm in the chapterhouse. Come join your fellow Izaak Walton members and their families for this annual evening of merriment, pot luck, and Christmas cheer

Bring a pot luck main dish, side dish, salad, or dessert to share with the chapter yuletide revelers. There will be donated beverages at the bar, but do not hesitate to bring your favorite libation or even add to the collective cheer


Firearms season will be over, so store your slug gun, stir up your favorite holiday dish, and join in the jolly fellowship Saturday evening

You may even end up with a door prize for yourself, your kids, or that special someone
